Supply is not enough demand

Concerned about the source of raw materials for ceramics industry, Ms. Ha Thi Vinh - Chairman of Hanoi Handicraft Association and Village, General Director of Quang Vinh Ceramics Co., Ltd (Bat Trang commune, Gia Lam district) for know, "input" material is an important factor determining the success of orders. The quantity, type and delivery time may be correct, but the quality of raw material supply businesses is also difficult to control. Because the geological layers only need to be translated into 1m, the quality of raw materials has changed markedly. This is a very difficult problem, so ceramic producers need to find stable raw material suppliers with deep processing capacity and diversification of raw materials.

Sharing more about the difficulties of the rattan and bamboo industry, Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Director of Hoa Son Fine Arts Company Limited (Phu Vinh craft village, Chuong My district) said that due to the shortage of grass, the village Phu Vinh must use the majority of raw materials from Phu Tuc trade village. The rattan and bamboo export industry currently has a number of establishments which have to operate in moderation and face the risk of closure because they cannot control materials.

Analyzing from the perspective of the management agency, Mr. Vuong Dang Hoa, Deputy Director of Hanoi Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consultant Center, said that the main source of raw materials for the rattan and bamboo handicraft villages of Hanoi is from the northern mountainous provinces, the central region and a part imported from abroad. The supply of raw materials for ceramics is mainly from provinces with kaolin sources such as Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and Phu Tho.

However, according to Hanoi handicraft enterprises, the supply of "input" materials in recent years has mainly been through small-scale, small-scale, low-output, frequent fluctuations and shortages. stability in terms of delivery time, quantity, and quality of raw materials.

Many enterprises and establishments cannot find a stable source of raw materials because they have to stop some export orders of great value, not only reducing the turnover and income of workers, but also reducing the prestige. of enterprises to importers.

Effective solutions for businesses

In order to help Hanoi handicraft village enterprises find sources of raw materials, and at the same time help production establishments in the northern provinces and cities to sell semi-finished and stable, long-term and quality finished products. In recent years, Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade has cooperated with local Department of Industry and Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam Craft Villages Association and Departments of Industry and Trade of Northern provinces and cities to promote programs. supply and demand connection.

Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Director of Hoa Son Fine Arts Co., Ltd shared: Thanks to the participation of Hanoi departments and agencies in promoting connectivity, supporting businesses and fine art handicraft production facilities In searching for raw materials, businesses now have abundant sources to stabilize production.

In addition to connecting with Phu Tuc commune (Phu Xuyen district), Phu Vinh craft village also actively connects with Hoa Binh province to make a product stage. Such a semi-finished connection has created business for Phu Vinh craft village to ensure sustainable production.

Mr. Vu Xuan Thanh, Director of Nghe An Industrial Promotion Center said: Nghe An is a region with sources of hunting materials (belonging to bamboo and neohouzeaua; for export rattan and bamboo industry, especially for making incense sticks). to produce incense), bamboo is very large.

Recently, Oxfam in Vietnam has supported 4 million euros to implement a sustainable development of this material. The province will have policies to support the development of raw materials, but this needs the involvement of businesses in building a stable chain of links from "input" to "output".

Meanwhile, according to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, in order to assist enterprises in Hanoi trade villages to find a stable source of raw materials to meet export demand, the Department of Industry and Trade actively took part in expedite and propose to relevant authorities about supporting and preferential policies, especially giving priority to creating material areas, exploiting and processing raw materials. The Department also proposed that the City People's Committee have a specific mechanism to encourage localities to care about the development and supply of "input" materials for Hanoi's handicraft industry.

Enterprises and establishments producing handicrafts in Hanoi can also invest in production workshops in localities of provinces and cities to take advantage of raw materials, labor, reduce costs and contribute. part of creating a complete and effective supply and demand chain.

In addition to the State's support in capital, market development, craft villages and handicraft enterprises should be more proactive in forming linkages and creating collective strength in all stages of the chain. product value.

Currently, total revenue from 305 traditional craft villages and craft villages in Hanoi is more than 20,000 billion dong / year. Total export of handicrafts in Hanoi in nine months of 2019 reached US $ 166.6 million, up 8.2% over the same period in 2018.
